aff Accountant Hybrid (or Remote for the right candidate) Finance Full time Westminster, Colorado, United States Description Overview Application Job Summary DISA Senior Staff Accountant's primary responsibility is to support the Controller in managing DISA's accounting operations by executing daily transactional accounting, assisting with month-end close, maintaining compliance documentation, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role will initially include primary ownership of accounts payable functions, with the expectation that AP responsibilities will be transitioned into a dedicated role as the company scales. This position bridges accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and project cost tracking to ensure accurate and timely financial information. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic start-up environment, wearing multiple hats and contributing to the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of DISA's financial operations. Typical Job Duties And Responsibilities Support month-end close preparation tasks including bank reconciliations, credit card clearing, drafting journal entries, and preparing account reconciliationsPrepare schedules, maintain organized working papers, and support close package assembly for Controller reviewOwn accounts payable processes including monitoring the Ramp inbox, vendor onboarding, weekly payment run preparation, and maintaining AP aging schedules, with a focus on building scalable processes for future transitionSupport accounts receivable activities including invoice preparation, maintaining AR aging, and assisting with collections follow-up as neededPrepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts (non-decision-making support only)Maintain sales tax, GST, and other compliance tracking schedules; prepare supporting documentation for external accounting and tax firmsSupport project/job cost tracking and ensure accuracy of coding to maintain reliable financial dataAssist with maintaining data accuracy across accounting systems (NetSuite, Ramp)Ensure documentation is organized and audit-ready to support financial reviews and external reportingIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and support scalability of the functionSupport special projects as requested by the Controller or executive leadershipAbide by all policies and procedures established by DISAAttend and participate in all required safety trainings Requirements Required Skills Ability to review and evaluate accounting work for accuracy and completenessExperience supporting financial reporting and audit processesAbility to improve accounting processes and documentation in a growing organizationStrong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close proceduresHigh attention to detail with strong reconciliation and analytical skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentClear and professional written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in accounting systems and financial tools (NetSuite, Ramp, Microsoft Excel)Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and employee informationCollaborate effectively as part of a team, supporting shared goals and fostering positive relationshipsAdapt to dynamic environments and identify solutions to challenges with flexibility and problem-solving skillsMaintain professionalism with high attention to detail, reliability, accountability, and accuracy in all work deliverablesUphold and demonstrate DISA's Values of Dedication, Innovation, Sustainability, and Accelerate ChangeAbility to follow safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA/MSHA and company safety standardsBe a valid U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United StatesPossess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record Compensation Range $75,000-$90,000 DOE DISA Technologies provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
