Job Description Under more limited supervision, the Senior Staff Accountant performs complex accounting activities and financial analyses by utilizing hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will fill a crucial role in the business accounting process. Responsibilities Make recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expendituresAssist with financial and tax auditsDocument and monitor internal controls in support of auditing teamPrepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns, ensure compliance with state and local tax regulations, research taxability issues, and assist with audits and tax notices.Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departmentsAnalyze complex financial reports and recordsReview journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracyTrain and mentor junior staffPerform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliationsPrepare financial reportsPerform account reconciliationsMaintain the general ledger, prepare tax returns, assist with audit preparations, and perform other accounting duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from a four-year recognized university, MA or MBA preferred3+ years of accounting experience related to the job descriptionSolid understanding of financial statements and GAAPExperience with multi-state sales and use tax complianceExcellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a team environmentAdvanced Excel skills to manipulate large data files to perform various analysis using VLOOKUP, PIVOT TABLE, INDEX, MATCH, and etc.Experience with Dynamics GP, MS Word and Outlook is requiredExperience with Dynamics CRM a plus but not requiredStrong attention to detail ATG is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
