Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
- Absorb and analyze financial reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Collaborate with department leaders to address financial issues and improve processes.
- Absorb and assist in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices as needed.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare, consulting, or multi-entity environments.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with financial statement preparation and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with healthcare accounting and reimbursement environments.
- CPA candidate or pursuit of advanced accounting certifications.
- Experience supporting audits and internal control processes.
