Senior SRE/Devops Engineer

About the role

You’ve been on the hard side of a midnight cutover and you’ve also been the one writing the runbook six weeks earlier. We need a senior SRE/DevOps engineer to lead infrastructure automation and cutover workstreams for a Fortune 50 bank’s ongoing modernization program.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure automation initiatives using Terraform, Ansible Tower, and modern CI/CD
• Own cutover and migration planning for complex legacy-to-cloud workloads
• Define SRE practices, SLIs/SLOs, and incident response standards across teams
• Drive observability strategy and tooling decisions
• Mentor mid-level SREs and DevOps engineers
• Partner with security and architecture to keep automation patterns clean and compliant

Requirements

• 7+ years in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure roles, with 3+ years in a senior or lead capacity
• Deep Terraform and Ansible expertise (Tower at scale)
• Strong cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Production experience with Kubernetes
• Track record of leading complex cutover and migration projects
• Experience setting SRE standards across multiple teams

Qualifications

• Bonus points for:
• Background in financial services or another Tier 1 regulated environment
• Service mesh experience
• Chaos engineering or game day practice background
• Published writing, talks, or OSS contributions in the SRE space
