About the role
We are seeking a Senior Sports Camp Counselor to positively impact the summer camp community and help children reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Supervise campers and plan camp activities around a variety of team sports.
- Actively participate in games to encourage participation.
- Ensure all campers can participate in all activities, no matter varied abilities whether physical, or intellectual.
- Identify, address, and redirect/correct inappropriate behavior.
- Avoid the risk of accidents by ensuring appropriate behavior of campers and staff.
- Aid in maintaining effective communication with parents/guardians regarding camper and camp activities.
- Embody the GPY commitment to diversity and inclusion, no matter race, color, creed, or gender identification.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrolled in a minimum of 2 years of child development coursework approved by state licensing requirements.
- Experience working with children and at least two seasons working as a Y Camp Counselor or as a counselor in a comparable program.

- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, and patience.
