As a Senior Specialty Underwriter - Automotive, you will play a key role in underwriting new business and renewals across all Business Units, with a strong focus on U.S. Automotive Specialty business and cross‑border global quotations. You will bring deep U.S. market expertise, collaborate closely with Sales and underwriting leadership, and help drive profitable growth across the portfolio This role plays a critical part in growing Allianz Warranty U.S. automotive specialty business, offering the opportunity to help shape a strategically important and expanding market Ways of Working This is a fully remote, U.S.-based role. Candidates must reside in one of the authorized states listed below and be legally eligible to work in the USCurrent or future visa sponsorship is not available. Authorized States:Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, South Carolina, Pennsylvania (Philadelphia), Tennessee What You Will DoManage and coordinate Automotive Specialty quotations globally, with primary focus on U.S. businessPartner closely with the Senior Lead and Head of Pricing & Underwriting on core business initiativesWork collaboratively with the U.S. Specialty team to manage and grow the portfolioServe as a key point of contact with Pricing, Network Management, Technical Product, Monitoring, and other stakeholders as neededUnderwrite and renew accounts to support profitable growthDevelop technical pricing offers in collaboration with Business Units, Sales, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and ReinsuranceEnsure adherence to underwriting authority, governance standards, and the four‑eyes principleSupport Sales negotiations and contribute to Pricing and Actuarial initiativesAlign underwriting decisions with the Line of Business strategy, risk appetite, and product guidelinesOperate effectively in a technology‑enabled environment, leveraging AI, data analytics, and cloud‑based tools responsibly and in line with governance and ethical standardsWork effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics, and cloud‑based tools, using insights responsibly and in alignment with our standards for data governance, security, and ethical use. What You Will BringBachelors degree (e.g., actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or business) preferredCPCU designation is aplusAt least 4 years of experience in case underwriting , pricing, or actuarial rolesExperience in Automotive Underwriting would be a plusStrong strategic mindset with the ability to align daily work to business objectivesSolid financial acumen and understanding of profitability driversComfort working with pricing models, assumptions, and actuarial methodologiesWorking knowledge of reinsurance structures and their impact on underwriting and pricingProven experience in specialty risk assessment and risk managementClear and confident communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics effectivelyExperience contributing to and leading projects or workstreamsAdaptability and effectiveness in a changing environmentFamiliarity with Allianz products, processes, or systems is a plusFluency in written and spoken English What we offer Annualized base pay range is $87,300 - $130,000 USD Actual base pay may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. Employees may also qualify for performance-based bonuses, merit increases, and other incentives based on individual and company performance.
