Full-time employee role supporting underwriting operations across Cyber, Media, Law Firms, and Miscellaneous Professional Liability (MPL) lines. Available in Los Angeles, CA; Atlanta, GA; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; and New York City, NY. Hybrid schedule requiring 2-3 days per week in the office.

About the role

The Underwriting Assistant for Professional Lines focuses on processing policies, managing end-to-end processes, maintaining accurate data, and assisting underwriters to ensure efficient workflows and high service levels. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while supporting process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to underwriting operations across Cyber, Media, Law Firms, and Miscellaneous Professional Liability (MPL) lines
  • Assist underwriters with the full policy lifecycle, including new business, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations
  • Review submissions for completeness and follow up with brokers for missing or additional information
  • Accurately enter and maintain data within underwriting and policy administration systems
  • Support quote preparation, rating, and pricing as directed by underwriters
  • Issue binders, policies, and endorsements in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain well-organized and compliant electronic files and documentation
  • Track workflows and ensure deadlines are met across multiple priorities
  • Assist with reporting, tracking, and operational tasks to support team performance
  • Collaborate with underwriting, operations, and other internal teams to improve processes and efficiencies
  • Support newer or complex policy forms, including the use of supplemental tools such as Excel when needed

Requirements

  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Pay

The salary range for this role is $64,000.00 - $120,000.00. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Regular full-time and part-time employees are also eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
