About the role

L3Harris Technologies currently has an opening for a Sr. Specialist Systems Engineer – Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Planner. The SDA Planner will play a vital role in supporting the National Space Defense Center’s (NSDC) Protect and Defend mission by integrating, analyzing, and coordinating space domain awareness operations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across DoD and IC organizations to develop mission plans, generate orders, and produce ISSPs to support SDA and space defense operations.
  • Provide detailed briefings and reports on the operational space environment, emerging threats, and recommend courses of actions to senior leadership and decision-makers.
  • Generate plans for launches, Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) missions, On-orbit Conjunctions, and special taskings as directed by senior leadership.
  • Facilitate and lead cross-division working groups within the NSDC to develop mission plans, operational orders, and ISSPs supporting the Protect and Defend mission.
  • Generate detailed operational plans and tasking orders to tactical units.
  • Ability to support Tier 1 Exercises.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Stay updated on emerging threats, technologies, and intelligence methodologies.
  • Ability to work in a High Operations /Stress environment with constant change to intel plans.

Requirements

  • Requires strong knowledge of job area. Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline. May have broad knowledge of project management. Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph.

Qualifications

  • Proven leader in Space Operations.
  • Objective thinker, problem solver with ability to execute challenging tasks to completion.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and directing teams.
  • Experience with System Tool Kit (STK) level 2.
  • Experience with Space Domain Characterization & Control System (SDCCS) application.

Benefits

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $92,500 to $171,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
