About the role

The L3Harris Implementation Systems Engineer is a customer-facing position supporting the design, implementation, and testing of Land Mobile Radio wireless communications systems for Public Safety, Transportation, and Utility customers. This role involves developing system designs and test plans to meet customer requirements, providing technical oversight for L3Harris and subcontractor teams, and ensuring contractual commitments are met.

Responsibilities

  • Develop design documentation, including application descriptions, interface control documents, system design drawings, system integration, network configuration, and test plans.
  • Participate in discussions with customers, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and other L3Harris personnel to complete contractual commitments.
  • Perform technical planning, system parts ordering, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems at all levels (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal).
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems and subsystem solutions, acknowledging technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Provide Systems Engineering project ownership after contract award, including final design and equipment selection, implementation, as-built documentation, factory and on-site installation, and system optimization.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Network Engineers, and other System Engineers to ensure complete project lifecycle integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
  • Grow knowledge in one or more specialty areas and work toward becoming an expert resource.
  • Travel 30%+ of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Ability to obtain Sec+ certification.

Skills

  • Ability to work within a cross-functional team environment with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication (English).
  • Shared L3Harris values of Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence, and Accountability.
  • PMP certification (preferred).
  • Experience in the land-mobile radio industry (preferred).
  • Broad knowledge of project management (preferred).
  • Experience leading or as the primary technical interface owning projects (preferred).

Pay

The salary range for this role in Virginia is $92,500 to $171,500. Final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.

Schedule

9/80; Employees work 9 out of every 14 days—totaling 80 hours worked—and have every other Friday off.
