Senior Specialist - Software Engineering
Role Summary
The Duck Creek Skins Developer Onshore will enhance, maintain, and modernize Duck Creek UI Skins for Commercial Lines P&C insurance applications. The role involves strong hands-on expertise in CSS, JavaScript, and Duck Creek Express 20, with experience in Express 30 compatibility mode.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the enhancement and maintenance of existing Duck Creek Skins ensuring consistency with functional and design requirements.
- Develop and modify UI components using CSS and JavaScript within the Duck Creek Express framework.
- Provide hands-on expertise with Duck Creek Express 20 for skin development customization and stabilization.
- Support UI modernization initiatives and compatibility efforts related to Express 30 compatibility mode.
- Review and guide offshore Skins development work to ensure adherence to UX standards, performance best practices, and coding guidelines.
- Collaborate with business analysts, UX teams, and backend Duck Creek developers to align UI behavior with policy transactions and workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve UI defects, cross-browser issues, and performance concerns across environments.
- Participate in defect triage, sprint reviews, release readiness discussions, and client-facing technical calls.
- Maintain documentation related to UI standards, reusable components, and customization patterns.
Required Experience
- 7 - 11 years of overall IT experience.
- 5 years of hands-on experience in UI frontend development for enterprise applications.
- Proven hands-on experience with Duck Creek Skins development using Express frameworks.
- Prior experience working in an onshore coordination role, collaborating with clients, and offshore teams.
- Experience working in P&C Insurance Commercial Lines preferred.

- Core Technical Skills:
- Duck Creek Skins Development.
- CSS and JavaScript (strong hands-on expertise).
- Duck Creek Express 20 UI customization, styling, and behavior tuning.
- Defect analysis, debugging, and regression support.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting or working with Express 30 compatibility mode.
- Exposure to UI modernization or multi-version Duck Creek upgrades.
- Familiarity with accessibility, browser compatibility, and performance optimization for enterprise UIs.
