Senior Specialist, Product Management
About the role
The Senior Specialist, Product Management supports all product marketing strategy efforts for the Business Machine Group. This position works towards being a subject matter expert on the products and supports the execution of Brother’s marketing plans through all touchpoints.
This position understands the competitive landscape, customer buying behavior, and market trends, and then uses that information to develop and execute relevant marketing materials and product positioning, with guidance from management. This position takes a leadership role with a variety of marketing projects, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities
- Create in-depth market and brand analyses to support Go-to-Market strategy
- On a weekly basis, monitor/track brand performance and initiatives (market share, POS data, etc.)
- Continuously acquire and share competitive MI (market intelligence) with broader GTM team
- Leverage syndicated data, listening data, and market research to help formulate new go-to-market concepts and ideas to combat competitive threats
- Develop insights and create executive summaries based on information gathered
- Maintain and document full understanding of the competitive environment to assess impact on business (competitive grids, retailer assortments, etc.)
- Take the lead on ad-hoc GTM projects as needed
- Drive the process for new product launches and documentation needed
- Maintain up-to-date records in the project management software (Workfront) & coordinate with key stakeholders accordingly
- Take the lead on development of Advance Specification Sheets and other launch documents
- Ensure execution on Brother-USA touchpoints for new product launches (e.g. Project Information Management (PIM) system; Digital Asset Management (DAM) system)
- Work with CXC to execute strategic messaging strategies during launch process (Cartons, Mylars, Marketing Material, etc.) and update Channel content as needed
- Audit PDPs across retail to ensure consistency with messaging grids and prioritized KSPs (key selling points)
- Work with Sales team on creating channel / customer specific marketing materials used for on-line and in-store activity
- Ensure consistent look and feel for each product segment while remaining true to the overall strategic direction
- Use market research data to provide content and direction to the Sales and Channel teams, with support from management
- Review and maintain channel partner webpages & coordinate with key stakeholders accordingly
- Act as a marketing liaison for key stakeholders, including Customer Experience Center (CXC), Marketing Communications, and Legal
- Support execution of replenishment/anything genuine programs for hardware related items
- Communicate with counterparts in cross-functional teams to ensure completion of marketing materials
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, or related field
- Experience: Minimum 5 years a combination of experience spanning the following areas:
- Experience supporting a Marketing department or function through the execution of various deliverables, marketing materials, and other tactics
- Experience analyzing market data and interpreting/communicating results
- Less than 1 year: Experience working in office solutions, consumer electronics, or a similar market
- Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Strong analytical skills, Critical thinking & problem-solving skills, Ability to collaborate with others and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, Strong communication skills (verbal/written/interpersonal), Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadline requirements, Strong attention to detail & organizational skills, Ability to understand and enhance the customer experience
Additional Details
For This Role: This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by your manager. Base Salary: The targeted base salary range for this position is $ 75,000.00 - $ 90,000.00 per year. Base salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the successful candidate, as well as factors such as internal equity, cost of labor in the hiring location, and alignment with market data. The base salary accounts for the entirety of the on-target earnings for this role. No additional incentives or variable pay are applicable.

About Where We Work
Brother’s corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams.
Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group.
Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA. Additionally, our outside sales teams work remotely within their territories, staying geographically close to the accounts they support to ensure they are always “at your side” for our customers.
