About the role
The L3Harris Communication Systems segment is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Electrical engineer with DC-DC and AC-DC analog and digital power converter experience to join an engineering organization that designs and delivers leading edge communications products.
Responsibilities
- Support Power Supply hardware design and development of DC-DC and AC-DC (3-phase and single-phase) topologies for applications with power consumption ranging from 50W to 2kW
- Perform simulation and analysis on Power Supply circuitry
- Perform bring-up and integration at board and system levels
- Perform subsystem and system level verification and validation testing
- Provide guidance and mentoring of engineering resources as required
- Able to obtain US Government Secret Security Clearance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in power supply design, including simulation and analysis.
- 3+ years of experience with schematic capture tool usage (DxDesigner and PADS preferable)
- Experience with Power Supply simulation tools (LTSPICE, Matlab, etc.)
- Experience with Isolated Convertor topologies and design principles including PFC
- Experience designing and evaluating power supplies for compliance with MIL-STD-704 or MIL-STD-1275
- Knowledge of EMI design and test techniques for conducted and radiated emissions/susceptibility (MIL-STD-461)
- Experience with continuous improvement techniques for manufacturing
- Experience with Configuration Management software (Agile preferred)

- In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $92,500 - $171,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.

- Job Schedule: 9/80; Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off
