About the role

The Senior Specialist Legal Editor, Commercial & Law Department at Practical Law US is responsible for developing and editing legal content, including standard form documents, practice guidance notes, and checklists. They also assist in the editorial development of Practical Law or Thomson Reuters products and establish relationships with external contributors.

Responsibilities

• Develop commercial legal and compliance content for Practical Law's online services.
• Edit legal resources such as standard form documents, practice guidance notes, and checklists.
• Aid in the development of Practical Law or Thomson Reuters products, particularly Global and AI initiatives.

• Requirements

  • A minimum of eight years' experience as a lawyer in a law firm or as in-house counsel.
  • An understanding of the needs and priorities of law firm attorneys and in-house counsel.
  • Expertise in various commercial transactional and regulatory matters, including general contract principles, government contracting, multi-state consumer regulatory issues, manufacturing and supply chain compliance, franchise, distribution, logistics, warehousing, and reseller transactions, e-commerce transactions, and consulting, sales representative, and professional services arrangements.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A strong command of writing, including attention to detail, impressive grammar, punctuation, and plain English, and the ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and simply.

      The base compensation range for this role is $119,700 USD - $222,300 USD, depending on location and qualifications.

      Schedule

      Regular office hours are provided, with the option to work remotely up to 8 weeks per year.
