About the role
The Industrial Hygiene Senior Specialist position is part of the Industrial Hygiene Division of OEHS. This position reports to the Associate Director Industrial Hygiene and is primarily executing assessments, inspections and other tasks relating to the industrial hygiene programs at Boston University (BU) and Boston Medical Center (BMC).
Responsibilities
- Support the industrial hygiene program through the assessment of hazards due to possible physical, chemical and biological exposures in the workplace.
- Respond to emergencies on campus during off hours, including weekends and holidays as part of the on-call emergency response team.
- Have or be able to obtain the 24 or 40-hour OSHA hazardous waste operations and emergency response training.
- Successfully complete a pre-placement physical.
Requirements
This position requires a B.A./B.S. in a related field and three years of industrial hygiene experience, preferably in an academic research or health care setting. Must have or be able to obtain the 24 or 40-hour OSHA hazardous waste operations and emergency response training. Successful completion of a pre-placement physical is also required.
Qualifications
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Pay
Minimum $78,000.00
Maximum $84,000.00
