Senior Specialist, HVAC, Central Utility Plant

Troubleshooting and Repair

• Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC systems
• Controls HVAC systems with remote fan coil units - chilled/tempered water
• Manages alternate energy sources including electric, natural/propane gas, and heating diesel fuel oil
• Manages air filtration systems - primary/secondary, permanent/disposable
• Manages duct systems - control dampers pneumatic/electric, actuators, VAV boxes, cleaning, balancing

Preventative Maintenance

• Utilizes preventative maintenance systems

Installation

• Works with basic piping installation including 1/2" - 1" threaded piping, 1/4" - 2" copper piping soldering and press fit, 1/2" - 2" plastic, solder solvent brazes and compression

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license required
• EPA 608 Certification required
• Four years directly related experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to read/interpret sketches, blueprints, plans, O&M manuals, circuit diagrams
• Computer literate with ability to utilize Microsoft Office at an intermediate level
• Ability to learn and utilize specific higher education programs and systems
• Ability to learn and apply office practices, procedures, policies, and regulations that are essential to the position
