Responsibilities
- Monitoring daily factory yields, investigating failures, and determining corrective actions.
- Mitigating component shortages through selecting and qualifying alternatives or redesigning circuits and sub-assemblies.
- Determining design, process, and test improvements to increase test yields and product quality.
- Working as part of a cross-functional team to meet manufacturability, testability and other DFx requirements for volume production.
- Working with other engineering teams to make necessary circuit changes prior to and during the launch of new products.
- Working to mitigate component obsolescence throughout the product lifecycle.
- Providing guidance to junior staff by providing assistance as they investigate problems.
- Leading investigations, coordinating tasks, and directing junior staff as required.
- Working with Quality and Supply Chain to address material discrepancies.
- Troubleshooting unit, modules, and boards to the component level.
- Supporting digital and related analog hardware designs.
- Performing detailed analysis of analog, digital and/or RF circuitry.
Requirements
- Hardware troubleshooting ability to component level for analog and digital circuits.
- Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
- Ability to design and conduct engineering experiments and act upon test results.
- Design and analysis of circuits and components utilizing various simulation tools.
- Experienced in leading small technical design or troubleshooting team, providing direction and prioritizing tasks to meet target yields and shipments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment interfacing with multiple teams across the organization.
- Ability to use typical lab equipment: Oscilloscope, DMM, Spectrum & Network analyzers, logic analyzers and signal generators.
- A driven person that wants to learn and is a proven problem solver.
- Able to analyze designs and communicate technical information to support staff.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s EE Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in Electrical Engineering.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience with tactical radios is a plus.
- Experience reading schematics and datasheets, probing circuits and understanding proper circuit operation.
- Troubleshoot circuit assemblies to component level
- Ability to select alternate electronic components and know what testing is required to qualify them.
- Working knowledge of LabVIEW and Jira a plus.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Benefits
- In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $90,500 - $168,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
