Senior Specialist - Data Engineering

About the role

This role is based in Zurich and is permanent.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Snowflake SQL queries for dynamic tables and streams.
• Work with Snowpark for advanced analytics tasks.
• Implement and manage Time Travel and Cloning features.
• Design and implement Materialized Views for performance tuning.
• Optimize query execution plans and enhance security using RBAC.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for Snowpark integration.
• Model data in both dimensional and fact tables.
• Handle large-scale financial datasets efficiently.
• Manage CDC and incremental data processing pipelines.
• Understand and apply business knowledge across Trade Lifecycle, including Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office processes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of total experience in data engineering.
• 6+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.
• Strong expertise in Snowflake SQL, including Streams, Dynamic Tables, Snowpark, Time Travel, Cloning, Data Sharing, Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, and Security.
• Advanced SQL development skills.
• Experience with Python and Snowpark.
• Knowledge of dimensional data vaults is preferred.
• Understanding of large-scale financial datasets and their complexities.
• Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC) and incremental data processing.
• Business knowledge across various trade lifecycle processes.
