About the role

This opportunity sits within a major LNG environment and focuses on leading purchasing activity across materials, equipment, services, and supplies to support operational and project requirements. The role offers broad exposure across supply chain management, strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier performance within a complex oil and gas setting. This position will work closely with engineering, maintenance, operations, production, capital projects, and finance to help maintain continuity of supply, commercial value, and delivery performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end purchasing-to-pay process from requisition through purchase order issue, delivery, payment, and close-out.
  • Perform strategic sourcing, competitive bidding, bid evaluation, award recommendation, and contract administration.
  • Purchase materials, equipment, and services for construction, maintenance, and operations environments.
  • Monitor purchase orders, expedite deliveries, identify supply risks, and support recovery planning.
  • Oversee supplier performance management, supplier relationship development, and commercial negotiation.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs and carry out commercial analysis against budgets and estimates.
  • Evaluate supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and service.
  • Conduct spend analysis, cost-reduction initiatives, inventory optimization, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of purchasing experience, ideally within LNG or the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, typical contract provisions, compensation structures, and legal terms.
  • Ability to negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
  • Capability to prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs and perform commercial analysis.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of category strategy implementation, procurement instruments, and compliant call-off processes.
  • Proficiency with Oracle, Maximo, and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or a related field; equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications may also be considered.
  • Inventory and material planning knowledge.
