Senior Space Systems Technical Program Manager
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Space Systems Product Manager to oversee the design, procurement, development, and testing lifecycle of satellite Command & Data Handling (C&DH) and Electrical Power subsystems. This role involves working across various departments such as engineering, production, procurement, and supplier organizations to optimize cost, schedule, performance, and risk, supporting satellite development programs from concept through vehicle integration readiness.
Responsibilities
- Manage full design, buy, build, and test lifecycle for C&DH and Electrical Power subsystems.
- Develop and manage integrated program schedules.
- Capture and track engineering decisions, action items, and program milestones.
- Support supplier management, risk mitigation, and schedule execution.
- Lead technical communications with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Support major design reviews, including PDR, CDR, Test Readiness Reviews, and production milestones.
- Affirm and validate engineering changes with suppliers.
- Support qualification and component testing programs.
- Manage subsystem testing schedules and risk reduction activities.
- Support site testing and development of test procedures and training materials.
Essential Skills
- Systems engineering and satellite hardware development experience.
- Proficiency in risk management and advanced Microsoft Project skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of project management or related experience.
- Experience developing complex hardware/software integrated systems.
- Vendor management experience for computer board development or Command & Data Handling systems.
- Experience working within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Proficiency in JIRA.
- Experience in budget management and resource planning, vendor management, schedule management, C&DH, and product lifecycle management.

- Customer-facing presentation skills.
- Laboratory and testing experience.
- Spacecraft or satellite subsystem experience (strongly implied by role scope).
Work Environment
The work environment includes the South Lake Union office and Tukwila office/lab/manufacturing site, with the ability to travel up to 25% between sites. This role offers exposure to advanced technologies at the intersection of spacecraft engineering, embedded systems, hardware development, analytics, and space operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62.00 - $72.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
