Responsibilities

• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers
• Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate
• Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customers needs
• Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (POCs)

Requirements

• 8 years of experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
• US citizenship (required due to the nature of our client base)
• Experience working in a customer-facing consulting, technical solutions pre-sales or post-sales role
• Background and experience in web acceleration, web security, infrastructure security technologies or cloud computing solutions
• Comprehensive understanding of the internet, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTML, SSL protocols and Cloud Computing
• Customer advocate passionate about delivering technical solutions
• Experience presenting technical topics to diverse audiences
• Team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in a fast changing environment

Pay

For US based candidates only — the base salary for this position ranges from $119,600 to $215,400 per year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
