About the role
The Optical Communications segment of Corning is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to support the development and commercialization of connectivity solutions for a major hyperscale data center customer. This role involves translating technical requirements into practical, scalable solutions, working across customer, engineering, and internal business teams.
Responsibilities
- Gathering customer requirements and supporting solution development
- Acting as a technical interface between customers and internal engineering teams
- Coeordinating prototype efforts and leading field trials for new products
- Developing installation, handling, and testing procedures
- Delivering training to customers, design teams, and contractors
- Supporting commercialization activities, including documentation, design tools, and cross-functional coordination
Requirements
- BS in Engineering Related Studies (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Optics)
- 5+ years of experience in telecommunications, data centers, or a related industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to distinguish color-coded cabling and optical fiber components
- Willingness to travel up to 25% and work outside standard business hours as needed
Preferred qualifications
- Project management or project coordination experience
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic products, structured cabling systems, and related installation practices
- Telecom manufacturing experience
- Background in engineering services, technical field support, or customer solution development
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive work to completion independently
Pay
The range for this position is $95,042.00 - $130,683.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
