About the role
We help our clients maximize the value of their technology investments by assessing enterprise architectures, designing complex integrations, and providing architecture leadership for initiatives like mergers, modernizations, and cloud migrations. We focus on enterprise architecture and planning, and solution architecture, and we lead the solution design process.
Responsibilities
- Personally design end-to-end solutions including integration patterns, data flows, APIs, security, and non-functional aspects.
- Establish and carry enterprise standards and strategies into projects, ensuring designs align with these standards without needing to own or police governance machinery.
- Ramp up quickly on new business capabilities and processes, filling knowledge gaps to partner effectively with business users and design solutions that fit their operations.
- Show genuine depth in data and modern data patterns, working across cloud and on-prem environments, and evaluate vendors and platforms based on merit.
- Translate between executive/business views and engineering realities, defending recommendations with facts and trade-offs, and defend against resistance in meetings with either audience.
- Have experience in financial services or other regulated industries, particularly in areas like insurance and actuarial modeling.
- Have experience building cloud-based enterprise analytical data repositories or single source of truth for finance, including layered/medallion architecture, data lineage, and reconciliation across upstream sources.
- Have experience with modern cloud data platforms, such as AWS, and have executed data governance effectively in a regulated environment.
- Have a knack for partnering with finance and actuarial teams to build self-service capabilities they will actually use, rather than working around in Excel.
- Have experience with AI, though not necessarily everything-is-better-or-the-world-is-going-to-end AI, but practical, useful AI that enhances rather than disrupts existing processes.
Requirements
- Seasoned solution architect with experience in large, complex organizations.
- Ability to navigate organizational politics and facilitate fact-based decisions.
- Experience personally designing end-to-end solutions, including integration patterns, data flows, APIs, security, and non-functional aspects.
- Knowledge of enterprise standards and strategies, and ability to carry these into projects without needing to own or police governance machinery.
- Ability to quickly ramp up on new business capabilities and processes, filling knowledge gaps to partner effectively with business users.
- Real breadth across application, data, and integration architecture, with genuine depth in data and modern data patterns, and comfort working across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Comfortable evaluating vendors and platforms based on merit.
- Ability to translate between executive/business views and engineering realities, defending recommendations with facts and trade-offs, and defending against resistance in meetings with either audience.
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries, particularly in areas like insurance and actuarial modeling.
- Experience building cloud-based enterprise analytical data repositories or single source of truth for finance, including layered/medallion architecture, data lineage, and reconciliation across upstream sources.
- Experience with modern cloud data platforms, such as AWS, and executing data governance effectively in a regulated environment.
- Experience partnering with finance and actuarial teams to build self-service capabilities they will actually use, rather than working around in Excel.
- Experience with AI, though not necessarily everything-is-better-or-the-world-is-going-to-end AI, but practical, useful AI that enhances rather than disrupts existing processes.
