Senior Software Systems Engineer - Autonomous Vehicles

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Systems Engineer - Autonomous Vehicles to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. This role will focus on building and improving the evaluation and validation capabilities that support autonomous vehicle software and systems. You will help define how simulation data, performance metrics, and analysis workflows are used to assess system behavior and identify opportunities for improvement. In close partnership with engineering and cross-functional teams, you will drive insights that strengthen testing quality, root-cause analysis, and overall AV performance. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $153,200 – $234,100 annually Responsibilities Define autonomous vehicle evaluation and validation processes from concept to implementation Design scalable testing and simulation frameworks for data collection and analysis Implement infrastructure to assess autonomous vehicle performance using simulation data Evaluate simulation validity and real-world correlation Identify metrics and methods to improve evaluation workflows Contribute to automated triage and root-cause analysis for autonomous vehicle issues Communicate insights and recommendations based on autonomous vehicle performance analysis Qualifications Strong Python programming skills for analysis and evaluation tools Experience with testing or evaluation frameworks for software or hardware systems Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, or similar tools Proven end-to-end ownership in technical projects Experience in analytical work with complex AI systems Ability to perform root-cause analysis on performance data Strong cross-functional communication skills for data insights Benefits Comprehensive health and wellbeing programs, including medical and dental coverage Retirement savings plan and various flexible spending accounts Paid vacation and holidays, allowing for work-life balance Tuition assistance for ongoing education and development Employee discounts on vehicles Employee assistance program for support in personal or professional matters Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
