Senior Software Engineering Program Manager - CRM

About the role
As a Senior Software Engineering Program Manager in the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Software group, you will lead instrument software development programs supporting implantable cardiac devices such as pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, cardiac re-synchronization devices, and cardiac rhythm monitors. This role is accountable for software execution and delivery across agile/scrum teams, guiding development activities, and ensuring program success within scope, cost, and schedule. The position is based in Mounds View, MN, and requires less than 10% travel.
Responsibilities
- Lead program estimation and planning, including identifying requirements, developing work plans, managing budgets, building schedules, and communicating resource needs.
- Own and manage execution against program/project plans, providing work direction to team members and monitoring dependencies to ensure critical milestones are met.
- Collaborate with Core Team Leaders, Platform Leaders, Product Managers, Human Factors Engineers, Architects, and Systems Engineers to drive programs within scope, cost, and schedule.
- Lead teams of software engineers (employees and vendors) to deliver on program commitments.
- Provide clear vision and purpose for the program, fostering team morale, cohesion, and effective cross-discipline communication.
- Communicate program status and issues to internal and external stakeholders, proactively managing quality, risks, and issues.
- Provide input for team member performance objectives and feedback to functional leaders regarding project deliverables and core competencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math and a minimum of 7 years of technical work experience, or an advanced degree with 5 years of technical experience.
- Experience leading software development projects, preferably within the Med-Tech industry.
- Strong understanding of software and embedded systems, the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and project management.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects in a matrix environment and manage geographically distributed teams.
- Track record of effective vendor management and delivering results in compliance with global regulatory standards.
Skills
- Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- Self-driven with strong technical and leadership skills.
- Experience working in regulated environments.

Pay
Salary range for U.S. locations (excluding Puerto Rico): $175,200 - $262,800 USD. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on experience, certifications, market conditions, and location.
Schedule
This role operates on-site 4 days per week to foster professional growth and cross-functional collaboration.
