Senior Software Engineering Manager Secure Products Software (Onsite)

About the role

The world's largest aerospace and defense company, RTX, seeks a dynamic engineering leader to head a new Cryptographic software team. This role is critical for developing mission-critical capabilities for next-generation U.S. military crypto products.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers, from entry level to seasoned professionals
• Hire, staff allocation, and foster a culture of growth and collaboration
• Grow talent and foster job satisfaction
• Collaborate across functions
• Engage with engineers, engineering leadership, program managers, and shared service organizations
• Champion product line strategy and development best practices
• Drive the creation of software solutions that exceed customer expectations
• Support pursuit and bidding activities
• Optimize staffing and program management
• Ensure compliance and process adherence
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams, including mentoring, task delegation, and cross-functional collaboration
• Experience in program execution, including bidding, project planning, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk and opportunity management
• Experienced with embedded software development
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
• Experience with Agile development concepts
• Experience managing large programs
• Experience with certification authorities
