Senior Software Engineering Manager – Salesforce

Serves as the engineering lead for the cross-functional teams supporting SunStrong’s Salesforce platform, which is comprised of engineering, QA and product.

  • Leads a team of Salesforce software engineers, providing mentorship, guidance and support to facilitate their professional growth and development.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a high-performing team, including coaching team members, creating development plans and recruiting.
  • Oversees architectural and design decisions across the Salesforce platform in partnership with teams and architects.
  • Provides code reviews and mentorship to improve overall application health and team skills.
  • Provides architectural planning and insights for application development.
  • Facilitates Agile sprint ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Identifies, implements and promotes opportunities to improve team delivery through the use of AI tooling and methodologies.
  • Champions best practices, coding standards and software development methodologies to maintain high-quality codebase.
  • Manages and allocates resources effectively to meet project deadlines and organizational objectives.
  • Promotes a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages creativity, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years experience in a leadership role.
  • Deep hands-on experience as engineering leader across enterprise scale Salesforce ecosystem, including integrating with internal and external custom and third-party applications.
  • Experience effectively leveraging AI tooling to improve app quality and delivery, particularly the AgentForce suite of tooling.
  • Deep experience with Apex, LWC, SOQL, Flows, and Salesforce metadata model.
  • Strong command of governor limits, bulkification, security model, and performance tuning.
  • Proven experience with integration design (REST/SOAP, async processing, error handling, retry patterns).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Gearset and/or other enterprise-scale CI/CD tooling.
  • Experience in large org refactoring, managed package coexistence, and multi-team governance models.
  • Experience with high-volume service operations, partner ecosystem workflows, or regulated data environments.

Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to triage and manage production incidents, with an emphasis on clear communication with business partners.
  • Ability to translate requirements into technical specifications for feature development.
  • Experience facilitating one-on-ones with team members.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer II, JavaScript Developer I, Integration Architect, or Data Cloud credentials.
