About the role
Like Google's own ambitions, the work of a Software Engineer goes beyond just Search. Software Engineering Managers have not only the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also manage a team of Engineers. You not only optimize your own code but make sure Engineers are able to optimize theirs. As a Software Engineering Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and expand software engineering teams while partnering with stakeholders to define and execute the strategic roadmap for Bare Metal and Memory Optimized instances.
- Drive the full engineering lifecycle for new offerings, managing hardware platform engagement, software development, launch, and post-launch support.
- Oversee secure, scalable system-level architectural design and implementation across virtualization and hardware-software interfaces.
- Align closely with cross-functional hardware, platform, kernel, networking, storage, and SRE teams to deliver seamless, integrated cloud solutions.
- Maintain high operational standards for production services while advocating for customer needs and continuously optimizing development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience with complex technologies software and cloud infrastructure systems.
- Experience with New Product Introduction.
- Experience with cloud virtualization, bare metal as a service.
- Experience collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders and teams.
- Knowledge of server hardware architecture - CPU, Memory, NIC and storage with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay
US: $262000 - $365000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
