Senior Software Engineer, Wallet Identity Server

About the role

The role involves working at the intersection of distributed systems and cryptography, ensuring security and user privacy. You will contribute to the digital identity ecosystem through established standards and innovative features.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop scalable distributed systems for digital identity solutions
• Lead technical initiatives and mentor team members in software development best practices
• Design and launch web services using Java and/or Kotlin
• Implement and maintain AWS services to support backend operations
• Create and document APIs for client and server interactions
• Utilize observability tools to monitor and enhance system performance
• Ensure adherence to security standards and implement necessary features
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design to maintenance

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience architecting, developing and maintaining scalable distributed systems
• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and team mentorship
• Experience developing and launching web services with Java and/or Kotlin
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3 and DynamoDB
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Temporal
• Track record of designing, building, and documenting client-facing and server-facing APIs using REST and/or gRPC
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
• Knowledge of security fundamentals such as certificates, PKI, signing and encryption
