Senior Software Engineer, Video

About the role

As a video pipeline engineer at Anduril, you will develop real-time and asynchronous video feeds from remote deployments to web, virtual reality clients, computer vision front-end and back-end pipelines. You will help design the ISR payloads for drones and the camera systems used in our existing and future products, with some overlap into computer vision tasks such as object detection.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement video pipelines for real-time and asynchronous video feeds
• Develop ISR payloads for drones and camera systems for current and future products
• Integrate object detection and other computer vision tasks into video pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable video infrastructure

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of general C++ software development experience
• Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline
• General understanding of camera hardware and video formats
• Solid understanding of writing reliable, multi-threaded software
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with scalable cloud solutions for video in AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Proficiency with Kubernetes
• Familiarity with tools such as vl42, ffmpeg, WebRTC, OpenCV, and Python
• Experience with video formats including MP4, MPEG-TS, MISB KLV standards, H264, and WebRTC/RTP
• Knowledge of Linux platform components: V4L2 camera API, VA-API, ffmpeg, gstreamer, and OpenGL

Pay

Salary range: $191,000—$253,000 USD
