Senior Software Engineer, Storage

The Senior Software Engineer, Storage is responsible for solving complex storage infrastructure challenges that support a massive user base. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the caching and data storage systems that handle hundreds of millions of queries per second and scale to hundreds of terabytes across thousands of machines. The position contributes to the technical strategy and ensures high availability and reliability, directly impacting user experience across multiple products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine long-term technical strategies for storage infrastructure.
• Maintain and improve data storage and caching systems to meet product demands.
• Manage infrastructure supporting data writes, reads, and storage, including tooling and automation.
• Collaborate closely with teams such as machine learning, search, and data science.
• Mentor engineers on designing and building scalable services used across the organization.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience building internet-scale software, preferably with machine learning storage infrastructure.
• Proficiency in general-purpose programming languages such as Golang, Python, C++, or Java.
• Experience with distributed storage systems, including feature implementation and optimization.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.
• Experience with storage technologies like Postgres, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, or Memcache is a significant advantage.

Pay

Base salary range: $217,000—$303,900 USD. Eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units. Position may also be eligible for commission, depending on the role.
