About the role
We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our Source Security team within our SDLC Security organization. This role will focus on developing, maintaining, and enhancing our local and remote coding agent sandboxing solution. These sandboxes are essential for enabling thousands of Datadog engineers to use coding agents securely and effectively, thereby minimizing risks and empowering them.
Responsibilities
- Write highly performant software, contributing to and maintaining the codebase of our sandboxing solutions
- Drive the technical roadmap for both local and remote agent security in Datadog, implementing safeguards and ensuring provable integrity mechanisms throughout the entire SDLC
- Take a user and UX-focused approach, ensuring that our security measures are practical yet actionable
- Guide and mentor junior engineers
- Participate in Datadog’s incident response efforts
- Have a direct impact on users and the overall trust of our platform
Requirements
- Fluent in one or more modern coding languages (Python, Go, JavaScript, Rust, etc.)
- Proven track record of working with platform engineering teams and delivering systems leveraged by multiple engineers
- Able to work closely with engineering and DevOps teams to integrate security seamlessly into the development process
- Familiar with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes-based development
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to work effectively through complex technical problems with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and able to adapt strategies and solutions in response to emerging challenges and opportunities

- Familiar with Linux internals, systems programming, or networking fundamentals
- Expert with MacOS Seatbelt or Linux Landlock
