About the role

The Senior Security Software Engineer at Crusoe will design, build, and deploy scalable services, platforms, and tools that provide foundational technical capabilities for product security controls, PKI, and Secrets Management. The core charter of this role is to implement automation that eliminates manual steps involved in understanding, remediating, and preventing security risks across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Build & Deploy: Implement and maintain scalable, robust distributed software components and security controls that scale within Crusoe's CI/CD pipelines.
  • Platform Security: Engineering and maintaining robust PKI and Secrets Management solutions to secure infrastructure, identities, and sensitive configurations at scale.
  • Data & Control Pipelines: Develop control integrations and data pipelines to collect, normalize, and manage security telemetry and risk posture across identity systems (IAM), log streams, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Metrics & Dashboards: Build metrics engines, real-time dashboards, and automated insights pipelines that provide continuous visibility into technical risk posture and emerging infrastructure risks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with platform engineering and security domain experts to understand technical requirements and deliver durable, operational solutions under full engineering ownership.
  • Engineering Excellence: Champion high-quality code standards within the team through rigorous code reviews, automated testing, comprehensive technical documentation, and proactive operational monitoring.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, a related technical field, or equivalent practical job experience.
  • Software Engineering: 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a solid foundation and hands-on, production experience in languages like Go.
  • Orchestration & Containers: 3+ years of hands-on experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in a production environment.
  • System Experience: Solid experience building high-QPS, critical distributed software applications or microservices.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Strong hands-on experience operating within major public cloud provider environments (such as AWS or GCP).
  • CI/CD & IaC: Active, hands-on familiarity with modern continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
  • Data Architecture: Strong experience contributing to technical architectures involving structured data flows, event-driven architectures, access control models, and third-party API integrations.
  • Bonus Points: Familiarity with foundational security and compliance control models (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
  • Experience Developing Tools or Data Pipelines: Utilizing cloud-native streaming and event infrastructure.
  • Strong Debugging & Systems-Level Troubleshooting Skills: In public cloud networks.
  • Experience Engineering & Maintaining Foundational Platform Security Tools: Including PKI infrastructure and Secrets Managers (e.g., HashiCorp Vault).

Qualifications

  • Experience developing tools or data pipelines utilizing cloud-native streaming and event infrastructure.
  • Strong debugging and systems-level troubleshooting skills in public cloud networks.
  • Experience engineering and maintaining foundational platform security tools, including PKI infrastructure and Secrets Managers (e.g., HashiCorp Vault).

Pay

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $175,000 - $210,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant's knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
