About the role
We’re working with an advanced engineering and product development firm based in Wilmington, MA that builds cutting-edge robotics and automation systems across multiple industries. They are hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer to focus on robotics, real-time systems, and AI/ML integration, owning the critical layer between machine learning models and the physical hardware they control.

Requirements
- 5 + years/senior level in Robotics and Software Engineering
- Strong programming in C and C++
- Strong python experience with scripting, tooling and automation
- Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2 such as writing services, nodes, actions, and hardware interface layers while also being comfortable launching systems such as tf2, and parameter management
- Proven experience with industrial robot controllers such as KUKA, FANUC, ABB, Universal Robots, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of industrial protocols in production systems (EtherCAT, CANopen, Modbus, Profinet)
- Real-time systems experience with Linux and experience debugging communication failures
Qualifications
- Machine vision integration experience
- Knowledge of ML interference run times and understanding of operational constraints
- Exposure to simulation / digital twin environments
- Experience owning architecture and systems design decisions through production
