About the role

This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available. Compensation: $166,900 – $230,900 annually.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build highly available backend services for the lending marketplace
  • Develop scalable systems that support rapid experimentation while ensuring reliability
  • Collaborate with Product, Machine Learning, and Analytics to create technical solutions for complex problems
  • Build flexible platform capabilities for new marketplace optimization strategies
  • Enhance the scalability and operational excellence of real-time decision-making systems
  • Engage in architecture discussions, code reviews, and operational ownership of production systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend or distributed systems
  • Proficient in developing production services with Ruby on Rails, Python, or Kotlin
  • Experienced in designing APIs and scalable distributed systems
  • Skilled in operating business-critical services focusing on reliability and operational excellence
  • Familiar with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and cloud-native application development
  • Experience collaborating with various stakeholders across engineering and business functions
