Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and release robust, scalable, and user-centric iOS applications.
  • Lead Own the implementation of complex mobile features from concept through production, ensuring high standards for performance, reliability, maintainability, and security.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and cross-functional partners to deliver seamless end-to-end customer experiences.
  • Drive technical excellence through code reviews, architecture discussions, and adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, and regression testing, to ensure application quality and stability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, proactively identifying opportunities to improve application performance and developer productivity.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends in iOS development, evaluating new tools, patterns, and approaches where they provide meaningful value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering shipping customer facing applications on iOS.
  • Proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI
  • Solid understanding of mobile platform architecture, UI/UX design principles and frameworks, GraphQL, mobile security and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps, and mobile release processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience operating in start-up settings, launching 0 to 1 product, and driving graduation to highly customized applications.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for mobile technology and a commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences.

  • Experience building systems in the automotive industry, or experience working on IoT devices
  • Experience with mobile app testing, experimentation frameworks and automation frameworks.
  • Experience working with large scale cloud systems through a provider like AWS

Pay

  • Initial base salary range = $140,000.00 - $170,000.00
  • Initial California base salary range = 154,000 - $187,000

Schedule

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Fremont, California.
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
