Senior Software Engineer (Institutional, Settlements & Transfers)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Institutional, Settlements & Transfers) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will focus on building and scaling backend systems that support institutional settlement and transfer workflows. You will partner closely with product and engineering leadership to shape technical direction, improve reliability, and keep critical services performing at scale. The position calls for strong system design judgment, hands-on execution, and a collaborative approach to mentoring engineers and raising the bar for code quality. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $207,955 – $218,900 annually Responsibilities Own the design and scaling of backend services for settlements and transfers Drive code quality through rigorous reviews and active participation in the development lifecycle Lead performance improvements and troubleshoot production issues Collaborate with product and engineering managers to create technical roadmaps Propose architectural enhancements to boost team velocity and system reliability Mentor junior engineers on best practices and professional growth Qualifications 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with production services at scale Proficiency in Go or a similar backend language and relational data stores like Postgres Experience with message-based architectures such as Kafka Strong ability to lead system design decisions and technical proposals Proven track record resolving quality and performance issues in distributed systems Experience mentoring engineers and promoting high code quality practices Familiarity with responsible use of generative AI for workflow improvements Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company contributions Equity and bonus eligibility Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
