Senior Software Engineer II, AI Labs & Foundations

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer II, AI Labs & Foundations to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will focus on designing and operating AI-powered systems that improve digital shopping experiences while building the foundational capabilities that support future AI applications. You will partner closely with product, design, and infrastructure teams to bring production-ready features to life, with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and engineering excellence. The position also involves integrating models through APIs, applying retrieval-augmented generation techniques, and contributing to voice interface capabilities within a fast-moving consumer technology environment. You will own projects from design through deployment and ongoing improvement, helping shape the quality and performance of core AI systems used across the business. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $192,000 – $202,500 annually Responsibilities Design and operate AI-powered systems that enhance grocery shopping experiences Build foundational systems for AI applications, including components for voice interfaces Integrate models via APIs while applying retrieval-augmented generation techniques Take ownership of projects through all phases from design to deployment and improvement Collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to deliver AI functionalities Drive engineering excellence, including code review and best practices advocacy Qualifications 5-8 years of industry experience in software engineering or AI/ML Hands-on experience deploying AI/ML features in production environments Proficient in programming languages such as Golang, Python, or Typescript Experience managing services with CI/CD, automated testing, and observability Strong collaboration and communication skills across disciplines Ability to utilize cutting-edge development tools for increased productivity Benefits Fully remote work opportunity Access to market-competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits Potential eligibility for equity grants for new hires and annual refresh grants Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
