About the Opportunity
The Senior Software Engineer, Identity Platform will play a critical role in developing and securing authentication, authorization, and experimentation systems. This position is responsible for building a scalable identity framework that ensures secure and seamless user experiences across lending products. The role involves collaboration with engineering, product, and security teams to enhance security measures and innovate identity and access management solutions. This position directly contributes to making credit more accessible and secure for customers.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize secure and scalable authentication and authorization systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve Identity and Access Management (IAM) features including OAuth, OpenID Connect, MFA, and SSO
- Partner with Security teams to strengthen security policies and prevent unauthorized access
- Enhance Experimentation platform and lifecycle across lending products
- Promote best engineering practices for maintainable and efficient code
- Participate in architectural discussions to shape the Identity Platform's long-term vision
- Mentor and collaborate with engineers to elevate technical skills and knowledge
- Lead high-impact projects that support credit accessibility for all
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field plus 4 years of experience
- Proficiency in backend technologies such as Kotlin, Java, Ruby, or C#
- Hands-on experience with authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML)
- Experience building scalable APIs with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of security principles including encryption, token-based authentication, and identity federation
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills focused on performance optimization
- Able to balance business needs with engineering best practices and security
- Commitment to clean code, architecture, and continuous process improvement
- Experience with AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code
- Excellent communication skills for diverse technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IAM platforms and security services
- Knowledge of A/B testing, gRPC, and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with Keycloak, NextJS, and Ruby
- Ability to influence technical direction without direct authority
- Strong product and analytical mindset for balancing risk, ROI, and performance
- Experience in fast-growing companies managing scaling challenges
- Strong ownership and accountability for quality and deadlines
