About the role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our team and help build foundational AI integration frameworks and agentic platforms. This role is focused on Python-based components and requires strong container orchestration skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement Python-based components for our core agentic platform.
- Deploy, manage, and scale applications within Kubernetes (K8s) environments.
- Build Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and a library of reusable "skills" (function calling/tools).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to expose their Java-based APIs to our AI agents.
- Implement strict enterprise AI guardrails, ensuring data privacy, sensitive data scrubbing, prompt injection defenses, and output validation.
- Maintain an inquisitive nature, responsiveness, and excellent testing skills (including automated testing pipelines for non-deterministic AI outputs).
- Work under pressure with multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, small-business environment.
- Seamlessly transition between hands-on execution and team guidance, treating mentorship and team leadership as inherent components of senior-level impact.
Requirements
- Clearance Requirement: Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, but not required on day one; U.S. Citizenship required.
- Experience: 9 years of experience in Software Engineering, with a strong focus on Python backend development and a Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Technical Skills: Kubernetes Proficiency, Applied AI Experience, AI Concepts, Enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, Microservices architecture, Configuration management tools, Comfortable working on a Linux command line, Demonstrated experience serving as a tech lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams.

Pay and Schedule
- $52.46 - $139.92 an hour
- Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location.
