About the role
A Senior Software Engineer is responsible for leading software development projects, designing and implementing solutions, and ensuring code quality. They also mentor junior engineers, contribute to technical strategy, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Their role involves a mix of technical expertise and leadership to drive the development of high-quality software.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software applications and systems that meet business requirements.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, and test software to ensure it meets quality standards.
- Identify and resolve software defects and issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers, designers, and QA engineers, to ensure software meets business needs.
- Maintain and update existing software applications and systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of career experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with a Master’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Capable of defining appropriate approaches and solutions.
- Furthers knowledge of profession through continued education and/or seeking or providing mentorship.
- Strong experience in .NET Core, Entity Framework, or NodeJS.
- Understanding of modern software design principles, microservices architecture, and object-oriented design.
- Proficiency in writing efficient SQL for databases such as PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL.
- Experience with major cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Git and familiarity with change tracking tools.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and integration with external APIs.
- Strong ability to debug and troubleshoot software and system issues.
- Well-developed problem analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Team player who is self-motivated and has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with infrastructure as code deployment tools such as Terraform.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools and Agile development methodologies.
- Understanding of Precision Agriculture technology.
- Understanding of IoT (Internet of Things).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containers, and Linux systems.
Pay
The annual salary for this role is $106,725 - $163,645 plus any applicable bonus. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
