Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about rearchitecting systems and simplifying complex problems. This role involves ownership of platform work across the full stack, including back-end services, cloud infrastructure, and front-end interfaces. The ideal candidate will leverage AI tools as an integral part of their workflow.

Responsibilities

• Evolving our platform safely while managing the transition between existing and needed systems.
• Designing and operating distributed, event-driven systems.
• Building and maintaining back-end services, APIs, and front-end interfaces.
• Using AI tools to improve code quality, catch issues early, and speed up development without compromising on quality.
• Maintaining clear communication with stakeholders regarding project timelines, trade-offs, and risks.
• Mentoring and leading technical efforts within the team.

Requirements

• Strong TypeScript skills and experience using it across the stack.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
• Understanding of database design, API architecture, and systems thinking.
• Front-end experience with React, and the ability to build interfaces that integrate with back-end services.
• The ability to make informed decisions based on past experiences with system redesigns or migrations.
• Comfort using AI tools for writing, reviewing, and designing software solutions.
• A commitment to producing well-documented, well-tested code that is easy for others to understand and maintain.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
