Senior Software Engineer - DevOps (Plex)

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer you will work on the DevOps team contributing to the software development life-cycle of the Plex family of products. You will report to the Manager, Plex DevOps & Product Security Engineering and work a hybrid schedule with remote and in‑office days.

Responsibilities

• Run applications and services built on distributed cloud architectures
• Build and maintain a robust suite of monitors, alerts, automation and remediation plans for software systems running in a production environment
• Build and customize Docker images running our applications and services
• Automate frequent, repetitive tasks
• Help strengthen our focus on software quality, stability, and availability
• Help mature our CI/CD pipeline and streamline the workflow with automation

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship for employment visas)
• Must be a U.S. person as defined under 22 C.F.R.120.62 due to ITAR access (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals, asylees, refugees, or individuals granted asylum or refugee status)

Qualifications

• Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience in software operations / automation
• Bachelor's in computer science or related area
• Experience configuring and monitoring CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure Pipelines, Travis CI, GitLab, CircleCI, Bamboo, Jenkins)
• Experience configuring and monitoring applications running on a cloud provider (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
• Familiarity with one or more scripting languages (e.g., bash, PowerShell, Chocolatey
