Senior Software Engineer/Developer AI (HUD)

About the Role

A federal technology consulting company is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer/Developer – AI to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 12–15+ years of software engineering experience and 8+ years of applied AI/ML experience, with a background in architecting and delivering large-scale AI systems and exposure to areas such as large language models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic AI, orchestration frameworks, MLOps, distributed training, and enterprise AI modernization.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of software engineering experience
• 8+ years of applied AI/ML experience
• Background in architecting and delivering large-scale AI systems
• Exposure to LLMs, RAG, agentic AI, orchestration frameworks, MLOps, distributed training, and enterprise AI modernization
• U.S. citizenship required

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data science, ML, or AI experience
• Expert-level Python skills
• Machine learning, deep learning, and LLM experience
• RAG, vector databases, and generative AI tools
• MLOps and production model deployment
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Enterprise-scale AI and analytics delivery
• Statistics, experimentation, and model evaluation
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Experience with Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow
• Full-stack application development
• Prior work with federal environments
• AI governance

• Microservices
