About the role

The CoreWeave team is seeking a senior backend engineer to design, build, and own the data layer, APIs, and services that power our new tooling for managing massive amounts of infrastructure across hundreds of sites. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, genuine curiosity about datacenter infrastructure, and experience with complex data modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Data models and APIs that capture the complexity of datacenter infrastructure: devices, connectivity, cabling, power, cooling, and spatial relationships across racks, rows, and floors.
  • High-throughput API services in Go (gRPC, GraphQL, and/or REST) that support the data density and interaction speed the frontend demands, including complex filtering, aggregation, and bulk operations across large datasets.
  • Backend architecture from the ground up: service structure, data access patterns, caching strategy, and API contracts designed to scale with the team and product scope.
  • Integrations with internal/external systems and data sources that feed infrastructure planning, ensuring the platform reflects real-world state and planned builds accurately.
  • Deployment and operational infrastructure for the services you build, including Kubernetes manifests, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and reliability practices.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Go.
  • Deep experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL and CockroachDB.
  • Experience designing and building APIs (gRPC, GraphQL, and REST).
  • Proven experience of performance optimization on the backend.
  • Experience owning deployment and operations for the services you build.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with meaningful senior-level ownership of production systems and the data layers behind them.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work directly with infrastructure engineers.
  • Deliberate about tradeoffs and can move quickly without sacrificing performance.

Benefits

  • Base salary range: $165,000 to $242,000.
  • Total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program.
  • Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, flexible spending account, health savings account, tuition reimbursement, mental wellness benefits, and more.
