About the Opportunity
The Senior Software Engineer, Data & AI Platform is responsible for designing, building, and scaling data platform capabilities that support analytics, data science, and AI initiatives. This role plays a key part in creating reusable frameworks and services that enable teams to efficiently develop data products and AI-powered workflows, with an emphasis on security, reliability, and innovation. The position contributes to advancing the organization's data infrastructure and driving improvements in healthcare decision-making through modern data technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design and operate scalable data and AI platform features for analytics and AI use cases with focus on data quality, lineage, security, and governance.
- Develop reusable abstractions, templates, and workflows to standardize data pipeline and product development.
- Collaborate with analytics, AI, data engineering, and application teams to deliver platform capabilities supporting business and clinical decisions.
- Evaluate and integrate modern data and AI technologies emphasizing scalability, reliability, developer experience, and cost efficiency.
- Apply Generative AI to enhance data discovery, documentation, automation, and platform usability.
- Promote software engineering best practices including clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and secure data handling.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software or data engineering related to scalable data platforms, services, or analytics infrastructure.
- Experience with modern data architectures such as data lakes, lakehouses, warehouses, and real-time processing.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for building production-grade data systems.
- Knowledge of distributed computing and cloud-native technologies like Spark and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with data engineering best practices concerning data quality, lineage, governance, observability, and operational excellence.
- Practical use of Generative AI tools to improve workflows, automation, analytics, or data platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
