About the role
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day.
Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale architectural and reliability initiatives in authorization, from designs to productionized solutions.
- Reduce technical, design, and implementation ambiguity working with management and technical leaders.
- Drive sprint team execution, and maintain high velocity, while continuously developing tooling expertise to improve self and team performance.
- Mentor engineers on your team, helping them grow and become effective owners of critical components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-teams across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to drive outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience developing and maintaining software using C++.
- Experience designing, developing, and optimizing back-end systems.
- Experience architecting, developing, and deploying large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with database query languages (e.g., SQL) and data modeling techniques.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience as an architect or technical lead on large projects.
- Experience designing and operating highly available, high load, and low latency distributed services.
- Experience in Identity and Access Management or Security.
- Experience driving collaborative cross-functional initiatives.
- Familiarity with AI tools like JetSki/Antigravity, Claude Code or Cursor.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications: Experience as an architect or technical lead on large projects, experience in Identity and Access Management or Security, familiarity with AI tools like JetSki/Antigravity, Claude Code or Cursor.

Benefits
- Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
- US: $174000 - $253000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
