Senior Software Engineer, Bet Engine
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Bet Engine to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will focus on designing and scaling core backend services that power high-traffic transactional experiences in a fast-moving technology environment. You will partner closely with product, leadership, and engineering stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges, improve platform reliability, and deliver high-quality features from concept through implementation. The position also includes mentoring teammates, strengthening production performance, and helping shape technical decisions that support long-term scalability. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize GraphQL APIs and gRPC services for sportsbook and casino systems
- Own and resolve complex technical issues, drafting proposals for leadership
- Deliver features in an agile/scrum environment, from design to implementation
- Identify production bottlenecks and drive platform scalability improvements
- Implement monitoring and alerting strategies using Datadog
- Mentor team members through code reviews and technical guidance
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance product quality and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering
- Strong foundation in computer science with knowledge of data structures and distributed systems
- Experience optimizing production systems and identifying performance issues
- Familiarity with GraphQL schema design and API development
- Proficient in relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and MySQL
- Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes
- Strong communication skills with experience documenting technical specifications

Pay
$145,000 – $193,000 annually
