Senior Software Engineer - Backend - Argentina

About the role

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will go beyond writing code and collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to research new design approaches, prototype emerging technologies, and assess the technical feasibility of our implementations. Responsibilities

• Design and develop microservices architectures using cloud infrastructure (AWS) and technologies such as PHP, Java, Node.js, and/or Scala.
• Ensure application scalability and maintainability through techniques like Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Design Patterns, and OOP.
• Design solutions that operate correctly in concurrent environments, addressing synchronization, race conditions, and data consistency in distributed systems.
• Guarantee code and product quality by creating unit and automated tests and validating expected behavior.
• Participate in decision-making and the design of evolutionary architectures, adapting technologies and workflows.
• Apply best practices in software development to optimize and measure the performance of projects and features.
• Align all technical solutions with business strategy, OKRs, and ecosystem initiatives.
• Investigate and discuss inputs on our architecture, databases, and APIs.
• Ensure observability and monitoring of developed solutions, understanding their performance in production.

Requirements

• Backend development experience. Our primary technologies include Node.js, Scala, PHP, and Java, but prior experience with these is not mandatory if you are eager to learn.
• Knowledge of concurrency management: parallel processes, asynchrony, synchronization, and designing safe systems in concurrent contexts.
• Experience with cloud solutions, primarily AWS.
• Ability to develop and implement APIs.
• Experience with distributed microservices.
• Experience with development practices (DDD, TDD, architecture, code design, paradigms) and a focus on technical excellence.
• Proactive mindset with an interest in participating in solution design and decision-making.
• Pragmatism in problem-solving (simple solutions for complex problems).
• Knowledge of agile methodologies.
