Senior Software Engineer – Avionics Software Tools (ONSITE)
About the role
The Software Engineer for our Avionics Software Tools Team based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will work in a team focused on innovation and production of software tools that enable Avionics airborne software development, verification and production. They will code, test, and provide ongoing support for simulation software and Avionics configuration tools to meet technical and customer requirements. They will implement DevOps tools and processes in Avionics engineering and apply technologies to automate and streamline avionics software production. They will develop tools and testing infrastructures that support automated build and continuous integration, and test using a variety of languages including C/C++, Python, Java and Robot Framework. They will collaborate using software configuration management tools and DevOps tools such as Git, GitMR, Artifactory, Jama, Grafana and Docker in a cross-platform environment including Linux and Windows.
Responsibilities
- Work in a team focused on innovation and production of software tools that enable Avionics airborne software development, verification and production.
- Code, test, and provide ongoing support for simulation software and Avionics configuration tools to meet technical and customer requirements.
- Implement DevOps tools and processes in Avionics engineering and apply technologies to automate and streamline avionics software production.
- Develop tools and testing infrastructures that support automated build and continuous integration, and test using a variety of languages including C/C++, Python, Java and Robot Framework.
- Collaborate using software configuration management tools and DevOps tools such as Git, GitMR, Artifactory, Jama, Grafana and Docker in a cross-platform environment including Linux and Windows.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- U.S. Person required - job requires access to ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware (directly or indirectly) and the company will not seek an export authorization for this role.
- Previous experience leading small technical projects or processes.
- Previous experience using one or more of the following programming languages: C/C++, C#, Python, Java, Linux and Microsoft Windows.
Qualifications
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Ability to work in a team and make sound ethical decisions that drive results.
- Ability and aptitude to learn programming languages on the job as technologies evolve.
- Use of formal configuration management tools such as Git.
- Familiarity with automated testing of software, through unit tests, functional testing and/or high-level tests.

Pay
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
