Senior Software Engineer

1. About Our Client:This organization operates a global fundraising platform designed to streamline and enhance donations to nonprofit organizations. It addresses challenges in the nonprofit sector by providing a fast, accessible, and seamless donation experience, supporting higher conversion rates and global payment options. The platform serves nonprofits across North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Europe, handling tens of millions of dollars in donations monthly and featuring a complex ecosystem including checkout experiences, portals, admin tools, and internal applications. 2. About the Opportunity:The Senior DevOps Engineer will join the DevOps team that manages essential platform infrastructure critical to engineering operations, including CI/CD, observability, logging, and developer tools. This role carries full ownership of a core platform area, driving its architecture, reliability, and roadmap, and serves as the senior technical reference and escalation point for that domain. The position contributes directly to maintaining platform stability and efficiency, enabling the broader engineering teams to deliver high-quality products. 3. Responsibilities:• Own a core platform area end-to-end: observability or CI/CD.• Lead technical initiatives from requirements through production and ongoing operations.• Define clarity and next steps in ambiguous technical situations.• Design systems for reliability and scalability.• Support developers in deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting applications.• Automate repetitive operations and maintenance tasks.• Investigate and resolve production incidents; lead post-mortems.• Participate in on-call rotations and improve on-call processes.• Mentor less experienced engineers through collaboration and code reviews.• Utilize AI tools in daily tasks such as research, troubleshooting, and development. 4. Requirements:• 6+ years in DevOps or SRE roles with end-to-end project ownership.• Proficient Linux skills (Ubuntu).• Working knowledge of Prometheus stack, including metrics and alerting.• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline design and build orchestration.• Experience with Docker, container image building, and registries.• Familiarity with Ansible and Git.• Scripting skills in Bash or Python for automation.• Production and on-call experience with incident resolution.• Experience mentoring engineers.• Strong ownership and attention to detail.• Solid hands-on experience in at least two of the following: VictoriaMetrics/Prometheus stack, log pipelines (Graylog/VictoriaLogs/ELK), Jenkins scripted pipelines, or container registries/artifact management (Harbor, Nexus). 5.
